York County Heroin Task Force Names Executive Director

The York County Heroin Task Force announced it is transitioning to a collaborative agency, complete with executive director and board.
The task force, formed in 2014 to combat York County’s opioid abuse epidemic, will now be known as the York Regional Opiate Collaborative. Dr. Matthew Howie, medical director for the York City Bureau of Health, will oversee the organization.
Howie’s position will be funded by local donations already pledged – $100,000 a year for three years – and in-kind contributions. The collaborative will be located in the York County Human Services Building at 100 W. Market St., York.
Memorial Health Fund, a supporting organization of York County Community Foundation, is a donor of the collaborative. The Memorial Health Fund transforms the way our community addresses compelling health issues to improve the complete physical, mental, and social well-being of the residents of York County.
