(YORK, PA, August 21, 2025) – The Racial Equity Fund (REF) of the York County Community Foundation (YCCF) recently awarded over $35,000 in grants to three local nonprofit organizations working to bridge inequities in our community.
The REF Committee reviews grant requests up to $15,000 for projects that seek to reduce equity gaps for communities of color in York County that address the following:
- Community leadership and development
- Criminal justice system
- Education and job readiness
- Health and wellness
- Income and wealth creation
- Racial and cultural education

It brings me great joy to see the dedication of our local nonprofits and their efforts to provide necessary programs and services that address racial disparities in our community,” shared Natalee C. The latest round of grants from YCCF’s Racial Equity Grant Fund were awarded to the following recipients:
Leadership York, $13,650.00 – to advance racial equity by expanding leadership development opportunities for diverse young professionals. Through access to Leadership York’s programs, York City young professionals—specifically York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program (YCCOSP) alumni—will gain the skills, networks, and support needed to become engaged civic leaders. The program also increases representation across local governance, nonprofit leadership, and community-driven initiatives in York County.
Junior Achievement of South Central PA, $12,250.00 – to provide students within the School District of the City of York with equitable access to impactful and inspiring financial literacy and career readiness programs, through its Inspiring Equitable Tomorrows in the School District of the City of York program.
YMCA of the Roses Grant Amount, $9,246.00 – The proposed project will fund YMCA of the Roses Temple Guard Drill team to travel to and perform at the annual SWAN conference. The SWAN conference is a yearly conference for families and youth from the foster care and adoption system and is a primary vehicle which allows the youth and families to come together and celebrate one another.
