York County Community Foundation Adds New Position and Welcomes Three New Team Members

(York, PA, August 5, 2025) The York County Community Foundation (YCCF) is excited to announce a new position and welcome three new team members: Courtney Taylor, Kathrine Goss, and James Schaeffer.

In the newly created position of Grants Program Officer, Community Partnerships, Courtney Taylor will coordinate with the York County Nonprofit Collaborative – a coalition of funders and nonprofit representatives dedicated to advancing the following key priorities of the nonprofit sector:

  1. Leadership Development: Training future nonprofit leaders and strengthening board governance.
  2. Peer-to-Peer Learning: Promoting collaboration, networking, strategic partnerships, and knowledge sharing among nonprofits and funders.
  3. Grant Application Streamlining: Simplifying the grant process by aligning application questions, sharing grant deadlines via an online calendar, and creating a unified application system for large-scale projects.
  4. Information Clearinghouse: Establishing a centralized resource for grant opportunities, including government and philanthropic funding.
  5. Collective Policy and Advocacy: Working collaboratively to amplify key issues affecting York County and its residents and sharing opportunities for a more unified approach to advocacy and policy concerns.

YCCF serves as the backbone organization for this collaborative, and with this added position, it can ensure the group has the administrative support needed to advance this important work. Courtney will play a key role in providing support and exploring opportunities that align with YCCF’s grant programs.

Courtney holds a Bachelor of Art in Journalism and English from the Pennsylvania State University and brings with her over 10 years of experience in grant management, event planning, and community engagement. In her prior role as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director at the Neubauer Family Foundation in Philadelphia, PA, Courtney provided support to the private family foundation’s leadership and successfully managed the grant lifecycle of over $1.5 million in grants.

“We are excited to welcome Courtney’s energy, curiosity, and her experience with managing private foundations to the YCCF team. We know she is eager to immerse herself in the community and we are happy that she has chosen to build a future in York County with her husband,” shared Natalee Gunderson, President & CEO of York County Community Foundation.

Kathrine (Kathy) Goss brings over twenty years of experience in financial reporting as she assumes the role of Controller at YCCF. Kathy joins us after almost 30 years at The Wolf Organization where she held a strong record of improving policies, controls, and processes. With her experience in managing corporate payroll accounts, 401(k) retirement plans, and preparing financial statements covering $500M+ in revenue, Kathy is an ideal candidate for this position.

James (Jim) Schaeffer joins the Foundation’s Finance team in the role of Accountant. After an illustrious twenty-four-year career at The Wolf Organization, Jim was seeking to increase his connection to the community. During his time with Wolf, Jim served as Divisional Controller and most recently as Wolf’s Senior Corporate Accountant. His experience includes collaborating with Wolf’s corporate accounting team to successfully complete year-end audits, bank reconciliations, lending reports, and overseeing migrations and diversification of bank accounts.

“We’re thrilled to welcome both Kathy & Jim to the YCCF team. Their impressive record of driving process improvements for operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and their ability to prevent and resolve accounting issues, makes them a great asset to the Foundation. Kathy & Jim’s drive for collaboration and community impact aligns well with our everyday work, and we are as excited as they are to support our mission of creating a vibrant York County,” remarked YCCF’s Vice President of Finance & Operations, Meredith Schreffler.

York County Community Foundation creates a vibrant York County by engaging donors, providing community leadership, and investing in high-impact initiatives while building endowments for future generations.
