YCCF Hosts Annual Meeting at Valencia Ballroom to Celebrate Key Accomplishments in 2024 and the Impact of Collaboration

(YORK, PA, May 19, 2025) – The York County Community Foundation held its Annual Meeting event at the Valencia Ballroom in downtown York, PA to celebrate the impact of collaboration and place-based philanthropy.

The event was attended by over 200 people and included a line-up of local nonprofit leaders who discussed the power of their endowment funds at YCCF. The Foundation is grateful to the following nonprofit partners who shared the impact and peace of mind made possible by the creation of an agency endowment fund at YCCF.

The three shared their organization’s ability to continue providing critical services to the community they serve because of their endowment:

Ron Bunce – President & CEO, Children’s Home of York

Ann Davis – Executive Director, DreamWrights Center for Community Arts

Kim Bracey – CEO, YWCA York

During the event, Harold Myers, Chair of YCCF’s Board of Directors introduced three new community members who recently joined the Board. The Foundation is excited to welcome the following individuals who bring their unique talents and perspectives to the organization:

Jose Serrano serves as the Chair and Emergency Medicine Director for both University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Hanover and UPMC Memorial in York, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Serrano is passionate about advancing emergency care, addressing disparities in access to healthcare and workforce opportunities for the under employed, and fostering community partnerships. A proud father of three, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, a master’s in health administration from Cornell University, and a Doctor of Medicine from Ponce School of Medicine. With a focus on social determinants of health, he is committed to improving health outcomes in the York community.

Robert Berkebile recently retired from RKL, where he served as a consultative leader with unparalleled abilities in strategic planning, decisive leadership, and innovative problem-solving skills. Robert also provided consultative services for health care providers throughout the Mid-Atlantic focusing on regulatory compliance, strategic tax planning, financial management and complex business transactions including mergers and acquisitions.

Elizabeth Zieglmeier recently moved to York County from the Midwest in 2024 to be near family and friends. She retired in 2019 from a long career at Deutsche Bank in New York City where she had senior roles in investment banking, asset management and regulatory affairs. Elizabeth has served on the boards of several nonprofits whose missions were oriented toward the environment, housing and the arts. Elizabeth and her husband have three children and one grandchild.  They enjoy travel, cooking, music and tending to their 200-year-old house.

The Foundation also recognized outgoing Board Member, Holly Mayer, for her years of service, guidance, and her commitment to philanthropy. Holly Mayer was past board chair and served on the Foundation’s Investment Committee for 15 years, with 8 years as chair of the committee. Holly was also inducted into YCCF’s Professional Advisor Recognition Society in 2023 in recognition of her contributions to the Foundation and for connecting her clients to YCCF to create funds that support the organizations and issues they’re passionate. Holly was a true ambassador and door opener for YCCF.
