Meet Cathy Bollinger

I am passionate about creating communities that are welcoming and inclusive of all ages!

With 30+ years’ experience as a highly motivated problem solver and creative thinker, I am available to speak at events, conferences, and webinars, share insights on radio and television programs, and write articles for various publications regarding the topics of:

  • Dismantling ageism
  • Creating age-equitable communities
  • Aging gracefully
  • Aging in place (how to live longer and stronger in the place you call home)
  • Lessons learned from our journey to change the culture around aging
  • Overview of Embracing Aging
  • Overview of TroveStreet (a resource to help you reimagine your aging experience)

Some of my highlights include:

  • Serves on the AARP-PA Executive Council. 2020 to present
  • Oversees York County’s Age-Friendly Action Plan, which is part of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. 2020 to present
  • Included as a resource on https://oldschool.info/, an anti-ageism clearinghouse of carefully vetted resources to educate people about ageism and help dismantle it, an initiative of Ashton Applewhite, author of This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism and a leader in the anti-ageism movement. 2018 to present
  • At the invitation of Senator Robert Casey, moderated a panel on expanding long-term services and support at his Virtual Aging Conference. September 2020
  • At the invitation of Chairman Susan Collins and Ranking Member Robert Casey, was one of four witnesses selected to present testimony at the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging hearing – Aging with Community:  Building Connections that Last a Lifetime. May 2017
  • Selected as one of six communities across the United States to be part of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging’s (n4a) Livable Communities Collaborative funded by MetLife Foundation. Selected to speak at the press event held in Washington, D.C. highlighting the results of the collaborative.  October 2013 – September 2014
