Samuel and Helen Gotwalt Fund
Established in 1994
The Gotwalts’ interest in young people inspired the creation of the Fund, which provides needy youth with memberships in the YMCA of York and York County and scholarships for William Penn Senior High School students to attend Shippensburg University. The Gotwalts were graduates of Shippensburg and educators in the York City School District. Mrs. Gotwalt, honored as a Distinguished Pennsylvanian for her accomplishments as a teacher and writer, established the Fund.
