Nat and Jo Newman Family Scholarship Fund

Upon Howard Newman’s retirement, his company honored him with a gift to the charity of his choice. When Howard gifted the funds to York City Dollars for Scholars, the organization then created the Nat and Jo Newman Family Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation in honor of Howard’s parents. Howard then gave his own gift to the fund to bring it up to the required level for awarding scholarships. Howard’s family used to own Jack’s clothing store in York, and Howard was a York High graduate, so although Howard no longer lives in York, it was important to him to give back to the community where he grew up.
