Michael and Eloise Newsome Scholarship Fund

Michael and Eloise Newsome know that everyone needs help at some point in their lives. They created the Michael and Eloise Newsome Scholarship Fund because they understand that affording college is an obstacle so many young people face today. The Newsomes each received similar scholarships while in college that helped pay for tuition, books, and incidentals. “We came from humble beginnings,” explained Michael, “and understand these types of needs of students beginning their college years.” Michael and Eloise have given annually to York City Dollars for Scholars for many years so they decided to establish a perpetual fund at YCCF. “This is our way of saying thank you to those who helped us,” said Eloise.
