Lori and Michael Mitrick Family Fund for York County

Lori and Michael Mitrick established their named Fund for York County as a way of giving back to a community that has given so much to them. “Through our involvement with numerous organizations, we have developed an intimate understanding of many of the community’s needs and we want to partner with others to positively impact the lives of those around us,” Lori said. After years of serving as an elected official in York, Lori is presently an adjunct professor at York College where she stresses the importance of community engagement. Michael, an orthopedic surgeon with a sub-specialty in hand surgery, has been in practice in York for over thirty years. He was the first physician in the county to perform an outpatient total hip replacement. Lori and Michael are avid supporters of the Foundation. “We have tremendous confidence in the Foundation’s leadership. They are experts in evaluating needs, both present and future, and in properly designating funds. This was paramount in our decision to create our family Fund for York County,” they said. In addition to being a donor, Lori has served on the board of directors for several years and has served on numerous committees including Beautiful York, Grant Distribution, YorkCounts, and Executive. Lori also finds time to serve as board president of the York County Literacy Council. Lori and Michael are pleased to further support the mission of the Community Foundation through their fund.
