Lester W. Jr. and Kathryn E. Bentz Fund
Established in 1999
Lester and Kathryn Bentz established the Fund in 1999 to endow their interests in five institutions: Advent Lutheran Church (youth programs), The Salvation Army (York), and the YMCA of York and York County, and existing Bentz funds at York College and Lutheran Social Services. Over the years the Bentz family has been actively involved in the business and civic life of their "hometown" community, which is also home to the Bentzes' three adult children and their families. Kathryn added a sixth charity, York County Heritage Trust, to the fund in 2014 after Lester's passing to compliment their philanthropy in the York community and reflect their interests in York's history.
