John and Maria Polli Family Fund

John and Maria Polli created their family fund after they sold their school bus company, and decided to support school children in districts that used their bus company. They are particularly concerned with children in grades 4-8 who need better nutrition, access to good healthcare, and even things as simple as clothing. According to John, they had two “lightbulb moments” when thinking about their fund: an angel tree in Starbucks one Christmas and a middle school sporting event where many children did not have adequate footwear. Those two moments gave them pause as they wondered why they only helped those in need at Christmas, and how could children learn when they didn’t have the basics? Their fund allows them to grant to multiple school districts and agencies where the need is greatest. Their sons, Adam and Nicholas, are successor advisors.
