Donald A. and Gretchen Wolf Swartz Fund for York County
Established in 1993
The Fund was renamed to honor the memory of Gretchen Wolf Swartz, wife of Donald A. Swartz, who died in 1997. It was originally created in 1993 with the transfer of assets of a private foundation to York County Community Foundation by Mr. Swartz, president of General Machine Works (now General Regulator Corp.), which was founded by his grandfather, Charles S. Swartz. Upon Mr. Swartz’s passing, the fund converted to a Fund for York County.
