Crull S. Kister Fund

Established in 2012

Crull S. Kister owned a poultry farm in Etters, between Newberrytown and Goldsboro, and had several family members who enjoyed scouting with troops in the area. Some of the scouts even helped Mr. Kister with work on his farm. Mr. Kister created a trust in1963 to benefit Boy Scout troops in the Newberrytown and Goldsboro area. In 2012, the trust was transferred to the Community Foundation to continue to carry out Mr. Kister’s commitment to scouting. Mr. Kister passed away in 1979, but the Scouts continue to reap the rewards of his thoughtful generosity.
