Nonprofit Resiliency Survey Launching to Gain Comprehensive Overview of York County’s Nonprofit Landscape

York, PA (October 16, 2023) – York County Community Foundation (YCCF) and partners at the Powder Mill Foundation and Warehime Foundation are investing in a comprehensive review of York County’s Nonprofit Landscape.  They are encouraging nonprofit leaders to complete the Nonprofit Resiliency Survey online survey by November 3rd.  As a token of appreciation, organizations completing the survey will have the chance to win one of four mini grants: two at $1,000, and two at $500.

YCCF recently formed a Nonprofit Resiliency Advisory Group to help craft the survey, analyze the results, and guide recommendations. The Nonprofit Resiliency Survey is a critical step in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the sector’s current strengths, challenges, needs, priorities, and opportunities.

Survey Highlights:

  • Survey Period: October 16th, 2023 – November 3rd, 2023
  • Participants: One leader from each nonprofit in York County

A third-party, Sangfroid Strategy has been retained to conduct the data collection.  Survey results will be presented in aggregate, with some data points categorized by size, issue area, and leadership demographics.  In addition to the survey, in-person and virtual engagement sessions with nonprofit leaders will be held and an analysis of 990 tax returns will be completed.

The data will be used to create York County’s first-of-its-kind web-based, interactive dashboard, “Engaging Insights: A Comprehensive Review of York County’s Nonprofit Landscape,” available in early 2024.  This dashboard will be available to the public and will help tell the story of the nonprofit sector.

“We are grateful for all of our local nonprofit organizations, because we know that nonprofits are vital to a thriving York County,” said York County Community Foundation President & CEO Jane M. Conover, MSW. “By responding to the survey, nonprofit leaders can help our community better understand the impact of the sector and how to build its capacity. YCCF envisions that the results of this study will inform grantmaking and enable funders to strategically provide targeted resources to build a more resilient nonprofit sector.”

YCCF’s Nonprofit Resiliency Advisory Group invites all nonprofit leaders to participate. For more information and a link to the survey, please visit www.yccf.org/nonprofit-survey/.

Together, we will build a more resilient York County.
