At YCCF, we know that our organization’s success is due in-part to our amazing Board of Directors. To show our appreciation, we’ll be highlighting them throughout the year.
Today, we’d like you to meet, Matthew Poff. Matthew grew up in York County and has always loved living in an area that experiences all four seasons. He enjoys the energy of the city, along with the natural beauty throughout the County. “I appreciate all the open space, parks and trails throughout the County and that it’s only a short trip to the City for dinner, a show, or a ballgame,” shared, Matthew.
When asked who or what inspires him to serve the community and the impact volunteerism has had on his life, Matthew stated, “My motivation to serve stems from my desire to help others. I have been blessed in my life and I look for opportunities to help others who may be less fortunate than me. I hope in some small way I can help to make a difference by making this great community a little better for all.
I also volunteer as an example to my children, so hopefully they too will develop of lifetime of service in wherever life takes them. I always find I gain more from the experience than I give. Seeing even small improvements or lives impacted and changed is extremely rewarding. I have also made connections and friends by working side by side with others that are committed to the same goal. To me, philanthropy means giving a piece of my time, talent, and treasure to help others and to improve the overall well-being of society by contributing to the greater good.”
In his free time when he isn’t working or volunteering, Matthew likes to spend time with his family and follows Penn State sports.
