At YCCF, we know that our organization’s success is due in-part to our amazing Board of Directors. To show our appreciation, we’ll be highlighting two or more each month for the remainder of the year.
Today, we’d like you to meet, Jack Kay, the President & CEO of Susquehanna Real Estate, LP.
“I came to York from Philadelphia in 1975 to accept the position of Director of Community & Economic Development for the City of York. What I love the most about York is the natural landscape of the County, the architectural fabric of the City, and the community values. It is a place where someone’s efforts can contribute toward and make meaningful positive community impact.”
In addition to serving on YCCF’s BOD, Jack also serves on the boards of the York County Industrial Development Authority Board and the York County Economic Alliance.
“Giving back is something I feel strongly about. My involvement in volunteerism opened opportunities and exposure to exciting projects and associations with great leaders. I have met exceptional individuals from whom I have learned much and from whom I’ve gained experience that I may not otherwise have had. It advanced my career and presented many business opportunities.
To me, philanthropy means giving of oneself for the greater good and being engaged in something beyond your realm. I believe it should represent a broad definition including giving of time, financial resources, and expertise.
In my free time I enjoy playing drums – (I am better than Buddy Rich…then again, he’s dead!), designing and building unique furniture using stone and other natural materials, tinkering with an old classic British sports car in which my grandsons love to have rides, and traveling with my wife, Ellen.”
