In honor of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting inspirational leaders who help make York County a place where everyone is given the opportunity to thrive. Some of these leaders happen to be members of our Board of Directors.

Today, we’d like you to get to know, Elizabeth Dellinger, Secretary of our board.

Here is her story:

I was born and raised in York County. What I love about York is how generous and philanthropic our community is.  We have successful entrepreneurs, business owners and generous individuals that gave back and continue to give back to our community in so many amazing ways.   Many of their legacies live on through the foundations and funds they created.  Their influence is everywhere – in our arts & entertainment, health & human services, and economic development programs.  They have all helped keep our community strong, growing, and vibrant.

My biggest inspirations are my parents. They inspire me to serve the community and have both been active over the years serving in various non-profit leadership capacities. I credit them, the United Way, Leadership York, and the York Jaycees for developing my philanthropic spirit. The York Jaycees had a slogan I believe in, “Service to humanity is the best work of life.”  We raised money and helped the community, all while making friends and developing leadership skills, and we had so much fun doing it! I can’t count how many personal and professional relationships I developed through my volunteer work.

I’m blessed to work for Traditions Bank where I’m encouraged to volunteer and “Make my Mark” in the community.  Volunteering is fulfilling and has benefited me countless times over – both personally and professionally.

To me, philanthropy means giving your “time, talent and treasure” – they are all important. Every gift is important, no matter what the size.

In my free time when I’m not working or volunteering, I love spending time with my 13-year-old daughter and enjoy attending and participating in her extracurricular activities, including leading her Cadette Girl Scout Troop.

I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, exercising and traveling.
