Bill Hartman Honored By Philadelphia Business Journal, National Association Of Corporate Directors

York County Community Foundation is pleased to congratulate its President and CEO, Bill Hartman, for being selected as a 2015 Outstanding Director by the Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Through the annual award program, PBJ acknowledges exceptional leaders in our region who “provide vital leadership and business savvy necessary to help guide their businesses’ success.” Hartman was selected for his work as board member and Lead Independent Director of Royal Bancshares of Pennsylvania, Inc. (NASDAQ: RBPAA), headquartered in Narberth, PA. Only 12 board members were selected from the greater Philadelphia area. Hartman and his colleagues will be honored at a dinner in Philadelphia on February 18.

According to the Journal’s announcement, Hartman “guided the bank out of a difficult period with his inclusive yet decisive leadership style, deep strategic planning, change-management experience, and knowledge of incentive-based management compensation programs.” He is credited with transitioning the Bank’s board to an independent membership model, hiring its highly regarded CEO, and driving the recently-completed rebranding efforts.

Hartman, a native of York, has served as President, CEO, and Director of York County Community Foundation since July 2009. He came to the Community Foundation upon his retirement from a 37-year career in banking. Throughout his career, Hartman has executed successfully C-level duties – including that of President, Chairman, and CEO – at several financial institutions.

Hartman currently serves on the YorkCounts Committee and on the boards and executive committee of Better York, The York Symphony Orchestra and Royal Bancshares of PA. He also serves on the Board of York Traditions Bank and has served on and chaired the boards of arts, economic development, and social service organizations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky.
