Assistance for those affected by Hurricane Harvey

Assistance for those affected by Hurricane Harvey

One role of community foundations is to facilitate assistance for the greatest needs of a community. Our friends at the Greater Houston Community Foundation (GHCF) are currently faced with tremendous needs to provide Hurricane Harvey Relief.
The Mayor of Houston and the greater Houston community have partnered with the GHCF to create a relief fund to help direct gifts where they are needed most.
We encourage members of the York County community interested in providing financial support to the relief efforts to consider a gift to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at GHCF. For more information, please visit www.ghcf.org.
There are other reputable organizations also accepting donations, including:
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance and disaster relief in times of crisis, and is seeking donations to help victims of Harvey.Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services
Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services is the disaster relief arm of the Protestant charitable organization, and it is taking donations to help victims of Harvey.

Persons or organizations with donor advised funds at YCCF may recommend grant distributions to relief efforts directly from their funds. Please login to DonorCentral to recommend a grant.
“York County is full of compassionate, generous people, and as leaders in philanthropy, YCCF is here to assist them in making timely charitable gifts to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey,” said Jane Conover, YCCF President and CEO.
