The Racial Equity Fund (REF) of the York County Community Foundation (YCCF) recently awarded $60,000 in grants to two local nonprofits.
The Racial Equity Fund offers grants of up to $15,000 each for projects that address issues of racism and equity gaps for communities of color in the following areas:
- Community leadership and development
- Criminal justice system
- Education and job readiness
- Health and wellness
- Income and wealth creation
- Racial and cultural education
The latest grants from YCCF’s Racial Equity Grant Fund Program include:
- $15,000 to Junior Achievement of South Central PA for its Junior Achievement: Inspiring Equitable Tomorrows in the School District of the City of York 2.0 program.
- $45,000 to Family First Health for its Bringing Access to Affordable, Quality Medical Primary Care to York City Senior High School Students program.
Michele Mummert, Vice President of Grants and Community Engagement at YCCF said, “York County Community Foundation’s Racial Equity Fund continues to support impactful projects by organizations that are making a difference for the BIPOC community. We believe these efforts are imperative to creating a vibrant York County where everyone can thrive.”
Grant applications for the REF are currently being accepted until September 13. To qualify for a grant, nonprofits must be working directly with people of color, with a preference for projects that are led by people of color.
Prior to submitting an application, applicants must complete a Grant Inquiry Form which can be found on YCCF’s website.
Grant Inquiry Forms should be submitted to Jason Andrews, Grants Program Manager, to ensure your program or project idea meets the funding source requirements. Once your completed form is received and reviewed, you will receive an email with additional information.
