Jeffrey D. Myers LGBTQ+ Fund

Jeff Myers was raised on a dairy farm in Carroll County, Maryland. He was a leader in 4-H and a national judge of dairy cattle. Jeff went on to become the County Director of the Penn State Cooperative Extension in York, PA and served on YCCF’s Agricultural Committee.
After coming out as a gay man in his late thirties, Jeff witnessed the deep pain that his parents and others experienced. He also became the subject of gossip among several members of the agricultural community. This life-changing moment led Jeff to start the Jeffrey D. Myers LGBTQ+ Fund at YCCF to help young LBGTQ+ people in both York and Carroll County understand that they are not alone and that there are resources available to help them along their journey.
More importantly, Jeff hopes to help both communities grow into more inclusive and accepting places for all LGBTQ+ residents.
