York Community Foundation Endowment Funds
There are 7 types of endowed funds at the Community Foundation.

Fund for York County & Fund for Greater Hanover
YCCF created the Fund for York County, our most flexible fund that can address the county’s greatest needs. The Fund for Greater Hanover addresses the Hanover area’s most pressing needs. These community needs are determined through research-based analysis that helps determine our high-impact grant-making initiatives.
Committees consisting of community members and Community Foundation Board Directors then award grants to nonprofits support these initiatives and create a cumulative impact on the community.

Field of Interest Funds
Our eight Field of Interest Funds allow you to either donate ANY amount of money to an endowed fund or create your own named fund within one of the established fields of interest. Committees consisting of community members and Community Foundation Board Directors then decide where to allocate funds and which nonprofits to award with grants.

Donor Advised Funds
Creating a Donor Advised Fund allows you, your family, or your company to make a gift to the Community Foundation. You then remain actively involved in recommending grants from this endowed fund.

Designated Funds
Establishing a Designated Fund allows you to give to the charitable organizations you are passionate about. You choose one or more nonprofit organizations to receive annual gifts from your named fund and the Community Foundation ensures that those designated organizations are supported forever.

Scholarship Funds
Through the Community Foundation, you can establish a fund that provides a scholarship related to a specific field of study or school district. YCCF is able to collaborate with schools in the selection and distribution of these scholarships.

Nonprofit Agency Endowments
An Agency Fund is established by a nonprofit or by an individual on behalf of a nonprofit organization. A gift of any amount to an Agency Endowment Fund supports the organization for as long as it exists. Use of the funds are determined by the nonprofit's board of directors. An Agency Fund resides under the stewardship of the Community Foundation.

Private Foundation Funds
By creating a Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundation with your Private Foundation dollars, you have the administrative and grantmaking expertise of YCCF at your disposal. You retain control of grantmaking decisions but are able to tap into additional knowledge about issues and organizations in York through the professionals at YCCF. Your foundation’s identity will be preserved, while making future grants in accordance with your founder’s original charitable intent.
