At YCCF, we know that our organization’s success is due in-part to our amazing Board of Directors. To show our appreciation, we’ll be highlighting all of our board members for exemplifying true leadership over the years.
Today, we’d like you to meet, John Bailey, President & Owner of Bailey Coach Inc.
“I grew up in Spring Grove, my parents moved there in 1949 after they both served our country in Europe during WWII. They moved to York first, then moved to Spring Grove as that is the only place they could find a home to purchase, my father Fred and his brother Glenn founded Bailey Travel Service in 1949. I still live in Spring Grove and on the same street I grew up on.
Our office was in the city (1949-2015) until a few years ago and we moved it to our new location in Spring Grove, I have to say I love the people and their commitment to the community.
I think my parents Fred and Melna have inspired me most to get involved in the non-profit community our passenger transportation business has allowed us to give back in many ways in the community not only local but nationally we just returned from a mission trip to Mayfield KY with one of our buses and a group of PA Lions, the group filled two tractor trailers with new supplies and helped clear damage from the tornados. I would say the biggest impact is to teach my children they must give back to the community.
Philanthropy means if we (my family and my staff) can just make a small difference in someone’s life to enrich it or make it better for them.
I enjoy a few things other than work; I collect antique guns, antique motorcycles, and enjoy helping our children complete projects at their homes, I enjoy building and carpentry and those skills come in handy for the projects the kids plan.”
