YMCA of York and York County Early Childhood Care and Education Fund

Through the generosity of hundreds of donors, the Foundation is growing a collection of funds dedicated to preparing our young children for school and life. A $500,000 challenge grant from The Heinz Endowments three years ago launched YCCF’s first endowments dedicated to improving early childhood care and education for our young children. Since then, investors in early education have committed nearly $1 million to these funds which support the work of York County’s Focus On Our Future initiative and the programs of seven participating child care centers.

 

Getting our children off to a good start in life has been YCCF’s priority since it launched York County’s Focus On Our Future initiative to improve early childhood care and education. Several thousand children throughout York County have already benefited from program quality improvements which were the initiative’s initial thrust.

 

The Foundation continues as an active partner in the work of Focus On Our Future, now led by United Way of York County.
