Earl and Margaret Brown Family Fund

Margaret Brown and her sons, Stanley, Roger and Richard, established the Fund in 1995 to help preserve farmland in York County and encourage students pursuing careers in agriculture. Earl and Margaret Brown founded Earl E. Brown Orchards in 1948, as they moved their three sons from South Pine Street in York to the very southern end of Loganville. That move was a “huge leap of faith” as they knew nothing about fruitgrowing. The rest is history as the business became a popular destination, producing the finest quality fruits and vegetables, and being actively engaged in the community.

In recent years, the dual purposes of preserving farmland in York County and encouraging students pursuing careers in agriculture, are being coordinated through the “Agriculture and Land Preservation Field of Interest Fund” at YCCF.
