Education remains one of the most powerful ways to strengthen York County’s future. Understanding this, YCCF intentionally aligns its grantmaking with community needs and supports efforts that spark collaboration, innovation, and long-term growth.
In 2025, YCCF invested more than $2.4 million in scholarships, organizations, and initiatives centered on education. While much of this funding supports traditional education providers, the Foundation also advances learning in creative and community-focused ways.
Through its competitive community grant process, YCCF awarded $167,500 to 11 projects directly advancing education, including curriculum support, preventive health education, arts programming, and STEM opportunities. An additional $350,000 supported 13 projects that promote learning across all stages of life, including childcare expansion, teen mentorship, workforce certification programs, and lifelong learning and social opportunities for older adults.
Grants were awarded to organizations like Wee Connect Early Learning Center, Inc., which provides inclusive early education for young learners of all abilities, and Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center, which delivers preventive health programs to thousands of local students year-round.
YCCF also partnered with The Advantage Program to help high school students earn credits while building essential life skills, and supported York College of Pennsylvania in expanding intergenerational and lifelong learning, agricultural innovation, nursing education, and nonprofit leadership training.
In addition, through 13 scholarship organizations and donor-created scholarship funds, YCCF distributed more than $634,500 in scholarships in 2025, opening doors to higher education and career pathways.
