York Academy Regional Charter School opened its doors in 2009, and faculty, staff, and administrators have been working hard ever since to ensure innovative and quality programs for its students. A grant from York County Community Foundation’s Arts & Culture Field of Interest Fund allowed the fledgling school to implement a collaborative arts program with a local art organization.
The school partnered with YorkArts to use best practices in connecting classroom learning with various cultural art forms, art introductory and education to the students. Each month, the students worked on specific projects based on themes, and as they used new materials and began to express themselves, the children grew more attentive and excited with each class.
Freedom of expression. Developing confidence. Providing rich artistic experiences. The Community Foundation is proud to support artists, young and old, through the Foundation’s Arts & Culture Field of Interest Fund as they grow as artists and create a vibrant York County.
